Introduction
JobAiro is a job search engine that helps people find publicly available job opportunities from employer career pages and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS). We're not an employer, a staffing agency, or a recruiter — we're a search tool that points you to jobs, and you apply directly on the employer's site.
This policy explains what information we collect when you use JobAiro, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We've tried to write it the way we'd want a privacy policy written for us: plainly, and without burying the important parts.
Information We Collect
Information you give us. If you create an account, we collect your name (if you choose to share it), your email address, and authentication details from the sign-in method you use — Google or email.
Information we collect as you use JobAiro. To make the product useful, we keep track of:
- Jobs you save
- Searches you save
- Jobs you've recently viewed
- Jobs you've hidden
- Basic preferences that shape your dashboard and recommendations
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we pick up some technical information in the background: browser type, device information, IP address, general location (city-level, inferred from IP), and how you interact with the site. This helps us keep JobAiro fast, secure, and working the way it should.
What we don't collect. JobAiro doesn't ask for or store resumes, cover letters, employment history, or any information related to actually submitting a job application. Since applications happen on the employer's website, that data never passes through us.
How We Use Information
We use the information above to:
- Create and maintain your account
- Save your searches, saved jobs, and preferences across sessions
- Personalize your dashboard and job recommendations
- Keep JobAiro secure and prevent abuse
- Understand how people use the product, so we can improve it
- Communicate with you about your account or important updates
We don't use your information to make hiring decisions, because we don't make hiring decisions — employers do.
Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — including encryption in transit, access controls, and authentication best practices — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and continuously work to improve it.
Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain certain records for legal or security purposes (like fraud prevention logs).
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You can:
- Update your profile information directly in your account settings
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Delete your account at any time, which removes your saved jobs, searches, and profile data
To exercise any of these rights, reach out to us using the contact information below.
Children's Privacy
JobAiro is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has created an account or shared information with us, please contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as JobAiro evolves. If we make material changes, we'll notify you — through the site or by email — before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version.
